The AASO has been a thriving organization since its inception in 1998. Our members are primarily college students attending universities and community colleges throughout the metro Detroit area. As a direct result of fundraising efforts and generous contributions from the community, AASO has been able to help dozens of students to further their higher education through the Gjergj Kastrioti Scholarship (GKS). The AASO has taken part in both political and economical relief efforts for Albanians in Albania, Kosova, Macedonia, Montenegro, and abroad as well as community enrichment programs such as volunteering and event planning within our own cities here in the US. The AASO takes pride in its efforts to enrich the Albanian community through intellectual enlightenment and social involvement. The founding members of the organization laid a foundation for the AASO’s goals and community respect and we, as current members, wish to carry this forward into the future.

Alpha Epsilon Phi is a national sorority, founded in 1909 by seven Jewish women, dedicated to helping women become the best they can be. We prize individuality, encouraging each member to discover and develop the talents and abilities that make her unique. But just as we value individuality, we also prize togetherness, fostering friendships and a sense of belonging that last a lifetime. When you're an AEPhi, you'll find there's always a sister to laugh when you laugh, to listen when you talk, to lend a hand and be there for you. Alpha Epsilon Phi deeply cherishes its two national philanthropies: The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation and Sharsheret.
The Phi Sigma Chapter at Wayne State has won several awards in the past year including 1st in Philanthropy, 1st in All Activities, 1st in Community Service, and the Best Chapter in the Nation Award.

The Black Medical Association was founded by the late Dr. Earnest Singleton in 1971, a medical student at Wayne State University School of Medicine. At that time, Black medical students constituted 2% of the school's population. Few in number, the students recognized the need to unite, to find solace and strength in their common goals. Thus the BMA formed to unify individual purposes, build confidence, promote academic excellence, and provide a forum to discover the solutions to shared problems.
Today, Black medical students at Wayne State University comprise over 10% of the student population in an era when our total health care system is undergoing tremendous change. The Black community continues to have a higher incidence of illness than the general population. Thus, we will continue to work toward the prevention and treatment of illness through education and outreach.

Metanoia Grad Union has as a primary goal the dissemination of knowledge about the Christian faith on a more rigorous, intellectually appealing level. This encompasses the rich intellectual tradition of the western canon, spanning thinkers from the foundational such as St Thomas Aquinas and St. Anselm of Canterbury all the way to current apologists such as Ravi Zacharias,Dr. John Polkinghorne, and Dr. Alistar McGrath. The goal is to invite thinking students and faculty to rediscover the tremendous depth and breadth of this body of knowledge which has all too often been forgotten or disregarded in the materialistic, specialized culture of high technology that has prevailed and captured our attention over the last few decades, and which has in no small part contributed to the increasingly materialistic, coarse and sensate society in which we live,at the expense of thoughtful reflection and introspection.

Moreover, we labor to be closer to Christ through educating ourselves in His Word, through prayer, worship and praise. As we ready ourselves, in turn we minister through evangelism and as witnesses and in song, songs that have first ministered to us.
We will be ready to give an account of our faith knowing what we believe and why, always prepared to give a reason. We are a choir that seeks God together, prays together, studies together, worships together, and upholds one another for we are a body and each part is necessary.
