Emerging Leader Award

Congratulations, you’ve been nominated for a Campus Life Leadership Award!  The 2007-2008 Campus Life Leadership Awards recognize the yearlong achievements of students, faculty, staff, and student organizations that positively impact student life and growth at Wayne State University and the Detroit community.  Please complete the activity form below and submit by the deadline: 5 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2008.

Emerging Leader Award Criteria

  • Recognizes the efforts of emerging leaders on Wayne State’s campus.  Award recipients will demonstrate that they have participated in experiences that have helped develop their leadership skills, and that they have taken on roles in co-curricular activities that have increased their responsibilities.  Must also show potential for future involvement/leadership positions.

  • Students must demonstrate an ability to balance academics with their leadership and involvement.

  • Any undergraduate student is eligible who has accumulated less than 60 WSU credit hours and has demonstrated the capacity to enhance their leadership skills while in service to the Wayne State Community.

  • Applicants must be in good academic standing, with a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average, at the time of application, selection, and presentation of the award.  A student may not be on disciplinary probation.

  • The period of eligibility includes involvement during the Fall of 2007 and Winter of 2008.

  • Up to 5 students will be recognized for this award.

  • Award recipients will also receive a $25 gift certificate to the WSU Barnes and Noble Bookstore.
