Spirit of Community Student Awards
In partnership with the Office of the President, Office of the Provost, the Alumni Association, the Dean of Students Office, and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, the Division of Government and Community Affairs will present the fourth annual Wayne State University Spirit of Community Awards Ceremony and Reception on Thursday, April 2, 2020.
New this year, the Dean of Students Office is sponsoring three awards in the following categories:
- Warrior Spirit and Pride
Students who demonstrate the true meaning of being a Warrior through extra- and co-curricular engagement experiences - Campus Engagement and Community Involvement
Students who demonstrate initiative and show a commitment to service at Wayne State and within the greater Detroit community - Student Wellness and Well-being
Students who support wellness and well-being opportunities for fellow Warriors through initiatives and involvement

Required qualifications
- Must have at least 24 undergraduate or six graduate credits from WSU
- Must have at least a 2.75 undergraduate or a 3.0 graduate GPA
- Must be in good conduct and academic standing
Application and recommendation
Students can apply for the Spirit of Community Awards using the link below. Faculty, staff, students or community members can also recommend someone to apply using the same link.
Applications are closed for the 2019-20 academic year.
Timeline
Feb. 10: applications close at 8 a.m.
Feb. 17-28: interview process
Mar. 16: winners announced
Apr. 2: Spirit of Community Awards ceremony
