Welcome to Greek Life at Wayne State University. Currently, 29 organizations (15 fraternities, 14 sororities) comprise Wayne State's outstanding Greek community.
Four councils serve as the governing bodies of the chapters at UCA: Interfraternity Council (IFC) governs the fraternities belonging to the North-American Interfraternity Conference (NIC); Panhellenic Council governs the sororities belonging to the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC); National Pan-Hellenic Council, Inc. (NPHC) governs the fraternities and sororities belonging to the National Pan-Hellenic Council; and the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) governs fraternities and sororities identified as multicultural organizations. In this system, IFC, Panhellenic, NPHC, and MGC students work together as a unified force to promote Greek life and Warrior Pride, promoting values of student success, academic excellence, and campus involvement.
In the United States, the physical and mental harassment and harm known as hazing has become synonymous with the image of Greek life. Hazing is not consistent with the values inherent in foundation of fraternities and sororities, nor of our University. Wayne State University does not condone hazing among any students, staff, team, or student organizations. It is against the university's Student Code of Conduct and against the law in the state of Michigan. If you ever have any issues or concerns, please call 313-577-1010 or write firstname.lastname@example.org.
I am proud of our Greek organizations and the wonderful work they do to live the Wayne State strategic planned, focused on student success. I encourage all students to consider membership.
