Team: Student Involvement, Activities and Organizations
Reports to: Assistant Dean of Students for Student Involvement, Activities and Organizations
Purpose of the position
The purpose of this role is to bolster student engagement in the voting process. Fellows will be dedicated to voter outreach efforts, including registering students, and promoting how and where to vote. This initiative aims to enhance campus-wide voter registration and foster a culture of civic engagement among students. This is a grant-funded position from August to November 2024 that is not guaranteed to renew.
Responsibilities and duties
- Available to work weekly starting Aug. 12 through Nov. 8, 2024.
- Host weekly in-person promotional activities on campus
- Reserving room space for events, acquiring distribution materials, and organizing snack giveaways to incentivize participation
- Participate in bi-weekly meetings
- Review data to analysis and assess voter engagement
- Educate the WSU campus community about where and how to vote, including registration and details of ballot
- Participate in FestiFall
- Other duties as assigned. Some weekends and evenings may be required.
Qualifications
- Enrolled Wayne State student
- Available to work 4 hours/week, starting Aug. 12 through Nov. 8, 2024.
Hourly rate
- $15/hour
