Student community involvement

As an urban university, Wayne State recognizes its mission to provide services to and assist, the surrounding community. The University is committed to providing volunteer opportunities for our students with the goal of serving the needs of our community while enriching the lives of the students involved.

Volunteering is a great way for students to feel good about themselves and share their passions with others. This is accomplished through a number of programs including our one-day off-campus service projects, on-campus projects, the service-based fraternity Alpha Phi Omega and our Alternative Spring Break Detroit program.
